The Selection Process For The Results Site
The results.sitesell.com
is updated periodically. Are you wondering why your site,
with an Alexa score of less than 560,000 (the top
1%), has never made the final cut? Wonder no more. Here are the six key
factors involved in Ken's selection process...
1) Raw traffic to back the Alexa traffic ranking -- The goal of
results.sitesell.com is to truthfully convince people of the
power of SBI!, not to trick them.
Some impressive sites rank in Alexa's Top 560,000 sites, but don't have high
traffic scores. We are seeing more and more of these, including
a few with 100,000 visitors per month.
As much as we wish we could, we can't use these great sites for two reasons...
a) We don't have the time to ask everyone if it's OK if we
publish their raw traffic results -- that's your private
information. On top of that, we'd never get around to updating this site
if we contacted everyone!
b) Visitors wouldn't believe it anyway. It's not checkable.
They cannot independently verify the claim.
If this is your situation, your Alexa score will eventually catch up. Keep in mind
that the Alexa score is ultimately not your driving factor.
But also understand that your reality in no way makes Alexa scores invalid. See this TNT HQ article for
a quick explanation why...

2) Category -- Your site is in an overcrowded category, or one that we are
not trying to emphasize (ex., an Internet marketing site).
3) Look & Feel -- Your site is just too plain. Yes, we do like to show off "snazzy" L&Fs because they
show that there is no limit to what you can do with SBI! but these sharp-looking sites have to back the "talk" with the
"walk" of good content, traffic, etc.
We also choose many very straight L&F sites
simply because people see that you can do quite well with straightforward design templates. However, we only require so
many of them.
Here's a quick pointer... Be objective. If your L&F is looking really plain (even if you made the cut), all
the tools are in SBI! to enhance it, especially since we
released iDesign new templates. Your Look and Feel does
set a subconscious tone. So... is it time for you to improve your L&F? |
4) Theme -- Variety counts. All things being equal, if
you have an offbeat, interesting niche, you have an edge for
inclusion.
We also remove material that others in the "mass market" might consider objectionable. This is not
censorship, it's just business. The only sites we terminate are explained at https://buildit.sitesell.com/Spam/index.html
5) Content Quality -- This one is obvious to you, but less important to visitors
to results.sitesell.com -- after all, they aren't going to
read all the material!
But if your content is too mundane or poorly written, we
have to exclude it. But it does not have to be brilliant --
that would give the wrong impression. You do not have to be
brilliant to succeed at SBI! and we don't want to give that
impression.
Ask a critical friend to read your material and be blunt. Is your writing well
written and engaging? Does it have a voice? Is the content
good? You might be doing a lot of things right, but it's a
shame not to retain visitors through better writing and good
content.

6) Length of "Stay" -- We like to rotate new sites in, so it takes an even stronger
site to stay in results.sitesell.com. New sites freshen the
whole thing up.
This is not a major point, though. It's just a consideration when
two similar sites have met all of the above criteria and we don't want to toss a coin!
Take-home lesson?
Making the final cut to be part of the Top 1% on the Results site requires more than merely
being in the Top 1% by Alexa's measure. The goal of this powerful PREselling tool is not to show only the prettiest, or only the
smartest, or only the highest trafficked, etc. It's to illustrate
a cross-sampling of SBI! success... concrete proof of the C T P M process!
Results.sitesell.com also serves as a wonderful mentor to you, and all SBIers. Set aside some time to review these exceptional sites, especially those
within your theme. Examine how and what others are doing to grow their businesses. Learn from their leadership.
